Works very well for thick hair. I have a LOT of thick hair. I have tried the regular shine or smooth serums as a finishing product (I don’t do any drying or flattening or heat treatment on my hair – just air dry) and none really give a shine or smooth finish. This one absolutely does. The directions say to use a small amount so I started with about a dime size and worked up to about a penny size as the ideal amount for my hair (which comes to about 2 inches below my shoulders and is wavy). You need to keep it at room temp or the coconut oil solidifies. Give it a good shake, rub the product evenly between your hands and then start at the back of your head, with your hair upside down, and start running it through. Then work your way around the sides to the front. I say this as I started with the front the first time and it was too much and gave it an oil-look which I personally don’t like. I like a smooth look that doesn’t look wet, so whatever your preference is. It doesn’t appear to do anything at first, but as your hair dries, it keeps it shape with way less fly-aways and way less frizz factor. The best way I can describe it is after you wash your hair on day 1 with no product, it’s a bit fluffy. Then on day 2 when some natural oil has worked it’s way down the strands, it looks nicer and more polished and finished. This product makes my hair look like “day 2” right after washing. Plus it smells very nice, very faint and is all natural without added synthetic fragrance.

I actually bought this product for my mom because she has naturally thick and frizzy hair.And she loves it! She put it on after the shower with slightly damp hair, and blow dried/flat ironed it per usual.Her hair definitely looks and feels healthier and is way easier to manage! I tried using it for myself, and I don’t know if I should not have put as much as I did, but this is definitely a miracle product for people with thick, curly and or frizzy hair.It made mine have a nice, healthy shine, but it also make it pretty flat. However, the smell is pleasant so I do not mind it. I ended up just putting it in a pony tail and calling it a night 🙂

A little goes a very long way as I found out. It took me days to wash it out. My fault too, as I should have realized with oil you need very little. I would be hesitant to try it again.
